Help & FAQ

What handmade means here, and what to expect from your piece.
Yes. Every piece is home made by me in my Louisville, Kentucky studio. Most of the sewing and all of the embroidery is done on my sewing and embroidery machines, and the finishing is done by hand: I hand-stitch the closures on dolls and plushies after they're stuffed, and I set every rivet on the rivet bags by hand. Because each piece is made one at a time, small differences in fabric placement and stitching are normal, and they're part of what makes your piece one of a kind.
One of a kind means the piece pictured is the only one. Some one-of-a-kind pieces, like my dolls, can also be made to order, so if the one you love sells, I can sew you another. Made to order means I sew it after you order, so it ships in about 5 to 10 business days. In stock means it's finished and ready to ship within 3 business days. Every product page tells you which one applies.
Very close. Made-to-order pieces use the same fabric type, but the pattern lands a little differently on each one. Colors can also look slightly different from one screen to another. I'm happy to email you photos of fabric samples to choose from.
Often, yes. I may not have the exact fabric again, but I can usually make something very similar. Send me a custom request with the name of the piece and I'll let you know what's possible.
Every product page lists an age recommendation, so please check it before buying for a little one. Faces and details are stitched on, with no buttons or small parts, and doll clothes close with snaps. Some dolls come with a removable accessory, and any exceptions are listed in that doll's description.
I don't sell from my home, but you can find me at festivals across the Heartland throughout the year. See my festival schedule for dates and places.
No, shoe wings are one size, and every order comes as a pair. They lace right onto any lace-up shoe through the metal eyelets.
Yes, and they're some of my favorite pieces to make. I can work with your colors, a name, a size, a theme or a special occasion. Start with the custom request form and tell me what you're picturing.
You send a request with as much detail as you have. I reply within 1 to 2 business days with what's possible, a price and a ready-by date. Once you approve and pay in full, I start sewing and ship it as soon as it's finished.
It depends on the size, the fabric and how much detail goes into it. Custom dolls start at $45, and most custom pieces cost about the same as similar pieces in the shop. You'll always get a price from me before anything is cut or sewn.
Please allow at least 2 weeks for custom work. For holiday gifts, the last day to send a custom request is November 15. If you're on a tight deadline, ask anyway and I'll tell you honestly whether I can make it.
Yes. Many pieces have an “Add a name” option right on the product page, and names on doll uniforms and notebooks are +$5. Type the name exactly the way you want it stitched. If the piece you want doesn't have the option, send a custom request.
Not at this time. Keepsakes are too precious to risk, so I only sew with fabric from my own shelves.

Where I ship, what it costs and when it leaves my studio.
I ship anywhere in the United States. I ship internationally too, and the shipping cost is calculated at checkout.
Shipping is free on US orders over $50. Orders under $50 ship for a flat $5.95. You'll see the exact cost before you pay.
In-stock pieces ship within 3 business days. Made-to-order pieces ship in 5 to 10 business days. Custom orders ship on the date we agree on together.
As soon as your order ships, you'll get an email with a tracking number. If you have an account, you can check your order status there too.
Yes. If you're in Louisville, you can pick up your order anytime from the red box on my front porch. Send me a note after you order and I'll let you know when it's ready.
Yes. Enter the recipient's address at checkout, and type your gift message in the note box in your cart. I'll tuck it in with the order. Prices aren't printed on the packing slip, so it's ready to give. Gift wrap isn't available.

If something isn't right, I'll work with you to fix it.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery if the piece is unused and in its original condition. The buyer pays return shipping unless there's a problem with my workmanship.
I'm so sorry. Please email me within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and I'll make it right with a repair, replacement or refund.
Contact me as soon as you can. In-stock orders can be changed or canceled until they ship. Made-to-order and custom pieces can be changed until I start sewing.

Keep your piece looking good for years.
Each product page has care instructions for that item under Care, so check there first. In general, spot clean or hand wash in cold water and let it air dry. If you hand wash, rinse thoroughly.
Yes. I'll repair any piece I made at no charge. You just cover the shipping both ways.

Secure checkout, your way.
Checkout is secure and runs through Shopify. You can pay with major credit and debit cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
No. You can check out as a guest. An account just makes it easier to track orders and reorder later.
Sales tax is added at checkout where it's required.
